While the party is
in progress, something completely different is happening on
the streets. SA men are attacking everything Jewish and
Judith witnesses her father, a book dealer, being beating
to death. Yet she still goes to the party later, for her
own safety. When she tells people what has happened she is
met by polite doubt. The Minister of Propaganda arrives,
dressed for a gala. He wants to hear a happy song after a
strenous day. But the song is interrupted as Judith is
unceremoniously fired from UFA films.
